Hometown: Ocala
Alma mater: University of Florida
In her own words: “I oversee the Florida region’s marketing and sales efforts and help develop and implement the regional strategic plan. My husband worked in the industry, and I saw how much he loved working in construction. Beck is a designer and builder, which is even better because I get to work with builders and architects. It’s a dynamic yet challenging environment. Every day is different. I love it.”
Charitable involvement: Finance Director, Junior League of Tampa; University of Tampa Board of Fellows; Hillsborough Community College Foundation Board Member; Florida Hospital Carrollwood Breast Cancer Center Fundraising Committee; American Heart Association, Metro Tampa Bay Circle of Red Member; Tampa General Hospital A Night at the Circus/Disney on Ice Committee Member
On philanthropy: “When I moved to Tampa after college, I wanted to meet new people and volunteer. The Junior League of Tampa is the perfect mix of both.”
Mentor: My mom. We lost my father to cancer when he was 42. My parents owned their own company; I was thankful that my mom knew the business to keep it running so that we could continue to attend the same school and live in our same house. She juggled it all. It taught me the importance of an education and learning to live independently.”
Motto: “Live in such a way that if someone spoke badly about you, no one would believe it.”
Best piece of advice I’ve ever received: “‘If it were easy, everyone would do it.’ On tough days, I say that many times.”
App I can’t live without: “Waze. I have the worst sense of direction. I would literally be lost without it.”
Dream vacation: “Anywhere with my husband (and dogs) is a dream vacation. I’ve been fortunate to travel quite a bit. I would love to revisit Switzerland and Ireland. I’ve never been to the Amalfi Coast.”
