Brought to you by Asiatic Street Food + Noodle Bar
Located in the ground-floor retail space in Centro Ybor, Asiatic Street Food offers unique and traditional Thai food and Asian noodle dishes for lunch and dinner. Mathew Ong, the managing partner of Asiatic and the previous owner of Thai Thani in Channelside, recognized a demand for fast, flavorful and fresh Thai food, similar to what’s served streetside in Thailand.
“The name Asiatic Street Food reflects who and what we are to our guests,” says Ong. “We feature fresh, made-to-order entrees characterized by a complex mix of at least three — and up to four or five — taste senses in each dish. This could be sour, salty, bitter, sweet, tangy and or/spicy. The fusion of these flavors creates harmonious and delicious dishes that make Thai cuisine one of the most popular cuisines in the world.”
Asiatic’s menu focuses on both Asian hawker — or street food — fare and traditional Thai entrees, like noodles and noodle bowls, roasted duck, barbecue pork, fish, and seafood, pho, and authentic curries. Because all of their dishes use the freshest ingredients and are made to order, customers can customize their meal according to preference, dietary needs or spice level.
“The kitchen stretches across the main dining area and can be seen from all angles of the restaurant,” Ong says. “This way, guests can view the preparation of a meal right before their eyes, just like the streets of Thailand.”
Asiatic’s dining area is intimate and modern, incorporating unique design elements almost as individual as their menu offerings. The setting is perfect for date nights, lunch meetings, small gatherings, or catching a quick bite before attending a show at the Tampa Improv.
To complement your meal, Asiatic offers guests a delicious spin on Thai Tea, topped with whipped cream, soft drinks, and regular tea, as well as beer, wine and sake selections. They also offer various food and drink promotions available only through their social media channels and through their partnership with South Tampa Magazine.
December 19 will mark Asiatic’s third year serving the Tampa community, and they’re inviting the community to stop in and help them celebrate. Asiatic is open seven days a week, including most holidays (hours may vary, so check Asiatic’s website or Yelp page for more information). In addition to dining in, Asiatic is available for delivery (through Uber Eats) and takeout. For more information, visit Asiatic on Instagram, Facebook or Yelp, or asiaticstreetfood.com.
