Brought to you by Asiatic Street Food
Asiatic serves traditional Thai and Asian cuisine and has been voted the best Thai restaurant in Tampa by Tampa Magazines. Portions are generous, ingredients are fresh, and the ambiance is quaint and aromatic. Locally owned and operated, owner Mathew Ong opened Asiatic to showcase the incredible dishes that line the open-air malls of Thailand and Asia.
Asiatic has numerous options to satisfy any palate by incorporating elements of traditional Thai cooking techniques with the cuisines of Southeast Asia. If you’re looking for something light, try the Asiatic wings — moist chicken wings served with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Or opt for our new menu item Som Tam Set: crunchy, thinly sliced green papaya, tomato, carrot, and long bean mixed with a dressing consisting of fresh garlic, lime, and fish sauce. Served with sticky rice and grilled chicken, it’s healthy and full of flavor.
Main courses include traditional green and Panang curries, Phad Thai, or customer favorites Kao Soi, Pho bowl with mixed vegetables, and Thai Boat beef noodle bowl. However, the less common dishes provide flavors that are unique, unexpected, and delightful! Kanom Jeen offers a delicate balance of flavors and fresh vegetables, while Phad Sam Roth consists of flash-fried chicken and vegetables stir-fried in a sweet chili/soy sauce that’s sour, sweet, and salty all in one! And since Thai food is the only Far Eastern cuisine where the diner chooses the heat level, you can make your food as spicy as you wish.
Asiatic cooks meals to order, which is why they can cater to all dietary restrictions: vegan, gluten-free, vegetarian, and dairy-free, to name a few. Pair any dish with something from their beer, wine, or sake selection. Or, for a sweet treat, opt for the Thai tea, complete with whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon!
Asiatic is Ybor City’s hidden gem, and they are incredibly grateful for Tampa Bay’s support during the recent pandemic that’s allowed them to keep their doors open. The dining room showcases two seating areas on either side of a curved bar (tables spaced 6-feet apart), and the restaurant has a small outside patio overlooking Eighth Avenue. If you’d rather dine at home, Asiatic’s new online ordering system allows their customers to browse the menu and quickly order from their computer, tablet, or phone. Online ordering is currently for pick-up only, or opt for delivery through third-party partner websites such as UberEats or GrubHub.
Perfect for an intimate date night, quick lunch, or casual dinner before heading out on the town, Asiatic offers something for everyone. The restaurant is open seven days a week. Please visit Asiatic’s website for hours of operation, to view our menu or place an order: www.asiaticstreetfood.com.
