Orthodontic technology is changing at an increasingly rapid pace, and Dr. Michael Abdoney is keeping his practice on the cutting edge to bring a smile to his patients’ faces.
“Orthodontics is a gratifying process to watch,” Dr. Abdoney says. “Improving a child’s smile can change their lives forever, and it’s fun to be a part of this process.”
Many of the new technologies available at Abdoney Orthodontics make the process easier and more comfortable for patients of all ages, from pre-teens to adults. Dr. Abdoney and his expert team use the iTero 3D scanner to create digital impressions of teeth, eliminating the need for messy, uncomfortable putty molds. Retainers are made in the office using a 3D printer, so if patients lose or break a retainer, the Abdoney team can easily print a replacement.
“When I look at each particular patient, I’m going to offer them the best treatment option for them at that particular time” Dr. Abdoney says. “I always do my best to guide patients toward treatment options that are appropriate for their age, orthodontic goals and lifestyle. That includes traditional braces as well as Invisalign.”
A Tampa native, Dr. Abdoney is an active member in several professional orthodontic associations, and he served a four-year term on the Florida Board of Dentistry. Dr. Abdoney also comes from a family of dentists; his father is a retired orthodontist, his brother Matt a pediatric dentist, and his brother Mark a periodontist, all here in the Tampa Bay area.
