Folds of Honor was rated a four-star charity by Charity Navigator and platinum on GuideStar. The nonprofit organization provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military men and women who have fallen or are disabled as a result of active duty service in the U.S. armed forces.
Its educational scholarships support private school tuition or tutoring for children in grades K–12, as well as post-secondary tuition assistance for spouses and dependents. Founded in 2007 by Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, a PGA professional and F-16 fighter pilot in the Air Force Reserves who served three tours of duty in Iraq, Folds of Honor is proud to have awarded over 35,000 scholarships to date.
