Builder: Arkon Group

Located on the Turtle Bale Walk in Alys Beach, this residence forms one corner of the fountain’s park.

This stunning two-story, 4,032-square-foot home—plus 1,880 square feet of patio and garage space—in Alys Beach was a four-year project by Chancey Architecture and Interior Design. With five bedrooms (including a bunk room), five full and two half baths, and a breathtaking outdoor space, the large-scale build was ambitious but well worth the wait.

Designed for an Atlanta-based couple seeking a vacation home for entertaining and family gatherings, the house also needed to incorporate their collection of meaningful pieces. That gave Catherine Zanghi, managing partner of Chancey Interior Design, the chance to seamlessly blend new elements with cherished belongings—and throughout the project, to form a close friendship with the homeowners.

Expansive sliding doors blur the line between indoors and out, flooding the living space with natural light and a seamless connection to the patio retreat.

Vibrant color plays a major role, with each bedroom inspired by the hues of Emerald Coast sunsets. White oak flooring adds warmth and cohesion, especially in the kitchen, where Sherwin-Williams’ “Really Teal” cabinetry and a custom brass range hood create a bold, elegant space. The home’s exterior pops with Woodland Green railings and window trim.

The outdoor area continues the coastal palette with teal-accented furniture, a mosaic-tiled splash pool, and copper wall lights—bringing a sense of whimsy and continuity to this thoughtfully designed retreat.
