Favoring neutral colors like cream, taupe and champagne, Kalli Barr, the principal designer and owner of Teel Cabana Design Studio, has curated pieces to create a coastal, nature-inspired retreat both inside and outside the home.

Gilded Elegance
Rustic gilding inside Visual Comfort’s Piatto Medium Pendant offers a subtle touch of visual texture to contrast the shade’s white exterior, adding a touch of refinement to any kitchen area. “This pendant is the perfect addition over a kitchen island,” Barr notes. “The transitional design of this light fixture creates a beautiful focal point in the kitchen, without taking away from the rest of the space.

Sights of Serenity
With soothing shades of pink, blue and purple, Softened Violet Water 1 by Wendover Art Group paints a sense of relaxation with its landscape design.  “Art can play such an important role in your home and can invoke many feelings,” Barr says. “I love collecting artwork that is calming, but also reflects something meaningful. This piece of artwork reminds me of the beginning of a beautiful summer sunset on the Florida Gulf Coast.”

Sun Dream Retreat
Living in Florida, interior designers get to play with outdoor spaces as well as indoor ones. The Santorini Outdoor Sun Bed by Palecek is Barr’s pick for summertime comfort and style. “We love to take influences from the Mediterranean and Aegean coastlines for our designs,” she mentions. “This piece, combined with an outdoor rug and umbrella, would be the perfect place to unwind on a summer evening.”

Wood Grain Wonder
For a gorgeous dining room centerpiece, Barr recommends the Ellis Dining Table by Palecek.
“The calming neutral color combined with the wooden texture makes a statement, without
overpowering the room,” she says. “I like that there are two leaf options that you can add to the
table. It makes it the perfect table for everything from a small intimate gathering to a large dinner
party for family and friends.”

Seashell Serenity
With a stonecast tree trunk base and a clam shell top, the Camilla Fossilized Clam Dining
Table by Palecek marries two elements of nature: wilderness and waves.  “I absolutely love
furniture pieces that reflect nature and make a big statement in a space,” Barr notes. “If you’re
looking to achieve either a coastal or organic modern design in your space, this would be the
perfect piece.”

Glass & Gold
Chandeliers can be more than functional; they can be works of art too. The Talia Large Chandelier
Chandelier by Visual Comfort is a perfect example. The gold metal brackets glisten through the
multiple swirled glass orbs to create a whimsical, yet sophisticated look. “This is one of my all-
time favorites,” Barr boasts. “This chandelier is the perfect combination of being elegant, yet
unique. Whether you use it over a dining table or as an entryway chandelier, this fixture will be a
showstopper.

The Gabriella Rattan Coffee Table by Woven was named in honor of Gabriella Crespi, a
Milanese designer with a deep love of natural elements.” As a Florida-based interior design
company, we have many clients that want to achieve a coastal look in their home,” Barr
explains. “This coffee table provides just that with the rattan, fluted texture throughout.”
