Bio
A state-certified general real estate appraiser, Kendra has more than 15 years of commercial real estate and appraisal experience in the Tampa Bay area. This Tallahassee native didn’t have to go far for her college degree from Florida State University. Her day consists of meeting with clients, inspecting commercial properties and working on appraisal valuations at her office. It’s a rewarding career, as it provides flexibility to pursue her philanthropic passion.
Philanthropic Efforts
Kendra is the vice-president of Onbikes, a non-profit charity organization that provides bikes to foster and at risk children in the Tampa Bay area during the holiday season. She has been serving on the board for more than three years. Bikes are a child’s first real opportunity to experience freedom and it also teaches independence while providing a fun, safe and physical activity. Riding a bike is one of the most grown up things a kid can do. There’s a special bond between kids and bikes that can never be broken. Riding a bike is a rite of passage, a chance to explore. Bikes represent fun, freedom, and fresh air—everything that’s good about being a kid. Our charity works alongside city officials and family service organizations to raise funds. What I love about this opportunity to serve my community is the simple and deliverable goal of making a child’s life better!
What do you like to do for fun when not in the office?
I enjoy fitness and being outdoors: biking, running races with friends, paddle boarding and training at Performance Compound. I also love college football. Making road trips to Tallahassee for FSU games or getting together with friends for football games are always fun times for me.
What is your motto in life?
This one is tough to narrow down to one answer as I am a lover of positive quotes, Bible versus and any wisdom that drives me to be my best self. I would say that my mottos are “always be who you are, not who the world wants you to be” and “never underestimate the power of you.” I also believe that kindness, love and faith are the key ingredients to a happy life.
Who has been your mentor or role model?
My Mom without a doubt! Not only is she so supportive of me, but I can feel how proud she is that I am her daughter and the woman I have become! She instilled in me good values, faith in God and the belief that I am capable of achieving anything that I aspire in life.
What is your dream vacation?
Anywhere on a beach with good company
If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?
Jesus. Just to be in His presence, hear His words of wisdom and ask Him questions would be quite amazing!
If you could nominate someone else to be in the Top 10 Under 40, who would it be?
I can think of so many deserving individuals (Julius Tobin, Michelle Gobea, Rena Carideo, Alyssa Rhoads, Jamie Lathrop, etc.) but Drew Weatherford would be my nominee. He is the founder/president of Onbikes and a dear friend to me. He is a man of action and lives his life with purpose. He exemplifies leadership, hard work, kindness and good values.
Where is your favorite place to visit in the Tampa Bay area?
Bayshore Boulevard is one of my favorite places. Whether I’m biking, training, or running, the energy, yet serenity of being out along the water, is such a happy feeling!
