About Me
I started in the aviation industry as an air traffic controller in the U.S. Air Force fresh out of high school. After a stint in two branches of the military, as well as several other great career opportunities, I started here at Tampa International Airport (TPA) a little more than six years ago.
My favorite hobbies are golf and travel. When I can combine the two, I am living my best life.
My Local Knowledge
My favorite places in the Tampa airport for coffee are Illy’s or Cafè con Leche and for shopping, I like the PGA Tour Shops in the main terminal.
People might be pleasantly surprised to find some very wonderful art pieces in TPA that tell a great story about how Tampa has evolved as a city.
My best TPA tip is: If you aren’t checking a bag, try our new express curbs.
What makes Tampa such a wonderful destination is that this city has so much to offer, from our powder-white sand beaches to thriving neighborhoods that have a great deal of character.
As for my hotel recommendations here, I love the new JW Marriott Tampa Water Street. I also like boutique hotels like the Le Meridien, Epicurean Hotel and Hotel Haya.
If you’re a foodie visiting Tampa, I would recommend the iconic Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City, the food hall or any of the restaurants at Armature Works, or great spots like Big Ray’s Fish Camp.
There are always great entertainment opportunities in our city, whether it’s a concert or sporting event at Amalie Arena, a trip to ZooTampa or Busch Gardens or just getting out for a fishing trip.
