Stand back, Starbucks. There’s a coffee contender in town—and it often has a pristine 1964 Porsche 356C parked out front. The owner (of both the car and the coffee shop) is Carlos Cendejas, and the classic Porsche is painted in a rare factory color: Togo Brown, the same shade as the coffee he serves at Casa Azul in Tampa, alongside family-recipe churros.
“My father collects cars in Mexico City, and I’ve dreamed about Porsches since I was 7 or 8,” Cendejas says. “I’m as passionate about cars as I am coffee.”
Acquired three years ago, his 356—nicknamed “Hershey”—had a ground-up restoration. Cendejas now takes Hershey to local Porsche club events and hosts Cars and Coffee-style gatherings for “cool classics” at Casa Azul. He admits owning a 1981 Porsche SC Targa too, but says Hershey is his real love. That, and his coffee and churros, made from scratch daily.
