Flying Taxis Coming to TPA
Hillsborough County’s Aviation Authority is working to bring “advanced air mobility” (air taxis) to Tampa International Airport, expecting to launch as early as next year. HCAA expects passengers to be taking these aircrafts to and from the airport to multiple locations throughout Florida by 2025.
More Direct-From-Tampa Travel Options Announced
Port Tampa Bay is welcoming four new itineraries for 2024 courtesy of Celebrity Cruises. Abroad the Celebrity Constellation, stops include Belize, Honduras, Key West, Mexico and New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Lynx Air, a Canadian carrier, will be offering nonstop routes to Toronto and Montreal starting this fall.
Tampa Welcomes City’s Tallest Rooftop Bar
The city’s tallest public rooftop bar is set to open this month atop the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, making it the second tallest in the entire state. Named Beacon, the bar will offer craft cocktails and shareables, including artisanal charcuterie boards. The panoramic views from Beacon encompass Hillsborough Bay, Garrison and Sedon Channels, and the Ybor Turning Basin.
Tampa Named Top American Beer City
Best by USA Today has unveiled its list of top ten American cities for beer, as voted on by its readers. The Tampa Bay region is recognized for its selection of over 100 craft breweries, including award winning beers like Cigar City Brewing’s Jai Alai IPA. Tampa was listed alongside renowned havens within the U.S. beer scene, such as Asheville, North Carolina and San Diego, California.
Gold’s Gym Comes to GasWorx
The internationally known brand, will be the first fitness facility to join the Gas Worx development. The 25,000-square-foot space will be much like the brand’s flagship in Venice Beach, featuring innovative equipment, indoor and outdoor training space and personal training.

This fall, Hyde Park Village will be home to three new women’s clothing stores – Veronica Beard, alice + olivia by Stacey Bendet, and Silvia Tcherassi.
Dog-Friendly Cafe, Belgian Waffle Shop, Forbici, Opening in St. Pete
Downtown St. Pete will soon be home to a two-story dog-themed coffee shop and cafe, Sage’s Playground, set to open in early 2024. Forbici, expanding into St. Pete, will open in Sundial St. Pete in 2024 with an exact date to be announced. Later this year, the popular Sarasota liège-style waffle shop, Crisp Waffle Company, will be opening a St. Pete outpost on Central Ave.
