Dr. Jeffrey Tedder understands that for athletes, there’s nothing more frustrating than being on the sidelines with an injury. A two-sport letterman in football and basketball for Wofford College, he remembers the hard work, dedication and thrill of competing. Now, as a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, winning means helping injured athletes get back in the game as soon as possible.
With the support of his expert team at Tedder Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, Dr. Tedder treats rising professional athletes and weekend warriors alike through knee and shoulder arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction and osteochondral transplantation. “Athletes are hard workers in rehab, which makes working with them not only easy but enjoyable,” Dr. Tedder says. “They have skin in the game, you could say, they know how valuable their time is when invested. They know that hard work will get them the best results and back to 100%.”
But you don’t have to be a hardcore athlete to see Dr. Tedder; as a knee and shoulder orthopaedic specialist, he treats everyone from retired senior tennis players to up-and-coming high school sports stars. “We can treat anyone,” he adds.
Dr. Tedder may be the go-to doctor for knees and shoulders, but he also treats hands, wrists, hips, elbows, feet and ankles. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He’s also a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, as well as the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. During his sports medicine fellowship, he studied under the mentorship of Dr. James Andrew, a world-renowned orthopaedic surgeon for professional athletes.
