Dr. T. Hunter Newsom is the Founder and Medical Director of Newsom Eye. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializing in cataract and LASIK surgery. Dr. Newsom brings a wealth of experience, awards, and research to Newsom Eye, with locations in South Tampa, Carrollwood and Sebring.
An innovator in his field, Dr. T. Hunter Newsom is the creator of the Newsom Bladeless Laser Cataract Surgery Technique, which offers a more precise and predictable way to approach and perform cataract surgery. Dr. Newsom has performed over 50,000 refractive surgeries and received national recognition for his contributions to the field of ophthalmology. Under his watch, Newsom Eye has been, and continues to be, an active participant in ongoing
clinical trials and FDA studies.
