Exterior Designer and Builder: (For outdoor living spaces) Ryan Hughes Design
Photographer: Ryan Hughes Design

Living in the Sunshine State, a home’s exterior is just as important as its interior, offering spaces for cooling off, entertaining and relaxing. Award-winning designer and builder Ryan Hughes has masterfully achieved all three with this Tampa waterfront property, creating an expansive outdoor living area that spans an impressive 14,500 square feet.

The pathway from the entrance, featuring a multi-fountained pool, leads to the expansive rear pool area with a sunken spa and fire lounge. This contemporary-styled pool features a two-story curling slide, multiple sun shelves with loungers, fire pits and island lounge space.

Artwork by internationally renowned artist Alex Turco is integrated into the designer waterfall and Vistatolia living wall overlooking the pool, as well as in elements within the outdoor kitchen. The total open-air concept accentuates the homeowner’s lifestyle, offering leisure and gathering areas seamlessly woven into the flow-through outdoor living space.

The path from the multi-fountained front pool to the expansive rear pool with sunken spa and fire lounge meanders through the outdoor kitchen, dining and lounging areas.
The sunken fire pit, matching the spa in size, features a marble-clad custom design and cushioned seating for large groups.
With over 100,000 gallons of water, the pool serves as the centerpiece for events and charity functions.
