Scott Andrew Fisher is a gifted artist, furniture designer and owner of the highly sought-after architectural millwork company T2TheS. Their custom one-of-a-kind work is exceptionally crafted, making them the secret weapon of luxury developers, architects and top interior designers.

Even before establishing his firm, Fisher cut his teeth in the design world through relationships with brands like Aveda, Nike, Donna Karan and Nordstrom.

Scott Andrew Fisher poses with one of his original paintings “Back Off” a 48 x 48 acrylic, latex, pastel and charcoal on canvas at his creative design studio SAFDS.

“I  met Scott when we worked together on the Hotel Haya project in Ybor City,” recalls Jordan Star of Ellison Development. “Scott ended up doing a substantial amount of the design for the lobby, café, bar and restaurant, as well as the fabrication of the custom furniture and millwork. Scott always met our crazy ideas with a smile. We could come to him with something outlandish with a super-aggressive timeline and he would embrace it. He’s both an artist and a craftsman. It’s a huge advantage that he can put together an incredible design and ensure its function matches the form.”

Fisher’s passion was ignited at an early age through nurturing parents, who enrolled him in various art programs, an uncle, who was a notable home builder, as well as some teachers, who helped prepare him for success at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design.

Fabricator Mark Harris works on routed arches for a panel that will be finished in lacquer and a brass inlay.

“Scott was one of those students who had that ability to cross over between commercial  and fine art,” offers artist John BonSignore, one of Fisher’s instructors. “He paid very careful attention to details from the concept right through to the finished product.”

That attention to detail also allowed him to evolve his business from a 1000-square-foot shop to a 30-employee operation in a 15,000-square-foot complex in St. Petersburg’s Warehouse Arts District. The firm specializes in luxury commercial and residential projects, with clients ranging from the Museum of the American Arts & Crafts Movement to The Stovall House social club.

“They say, hire people that are better than you and I’m surrounded by the best. I believe you need to be happy to do good design and so I want to make sure my team is happy,” Fisher explains. “T2theS has a reputation for being willing to help solve problems outside our typical scope. It comes naturally and creates a great working dynamic. There are always challenges, but we bob, weave and operate with integrity and transparency. That’s our secret sauce.”

Fisher counts his wife Kristen as part of that team. She played a pivotal role in the development of his creative studio SAFDS where he creates custom furniture and engages in his other passions, which include collecting vintage cars and painting.

“I started painting to escape the exacting world of T2theS. Everything there is thought out, engineered and executed with a plan,” he shares. “Painting was a way for me to explore the idea of going outside the lines.”

Fisher’s work is as original as the man himself, possessing a point of view steeped in masculine archetypes with a punch of contemporary cool.

“The first time I came in contact with Scott’s work, I came to a dead stop. From the subject matter and technique to the execution, it was everything I love in art. I own two of his pieces,” says Tobin Green, owner of Tampa-based AADMIXX Design + Build Studio and consultant and project manager with CASS Contemporary. “His subject matter has this sort of sophisticated playfulness to it too that’s really magnetic. “

That magnetism is present in all aspects of Fisher’s body of work and results in a laid-back luxury vibe that makes him one to watch.
