Preparing to launch three new Tampa locations, POKÉWORKS will soon debut in the University of South Florida area. Featuring new and interesting takes on Hawaiian-inspired poke bowls, sushi burritos and salads, the first of the three restaurants is scheduled to open its door this February on Fowler Avenue.
Originally scheduled to launch after Gasparilla, Tampa’s ELECTRIC SCOOTERS have been pushed to a presumed April set-up date. Once the program is successfully underway, roughly 1,800 dockless scooters will be available throughout the downtown area for public use. If the scooters prove a success in Tampa, they are expected to expand to the St. Pete area as well.

Westshore Marina District developer BTI Partners announced GALATI YACHTS will move its regional showroom to the first floor of the new Marina Pointe condo tower. The company will have access to adjacent deep-water slips to showcase its premium brands, including Viking, Princess and Maritimo Yachts. An opening date has not yet been set.
The seafooderie HARPOON HARRY’S CRAB HOUSE TAMPA has recently opened its doors at the Tampa Convention Center. Offering a wide range of crab — including snow crab, blue crab and king crab — customers are able to enjoy their meals in an indoor-outdoor setting, including a second level balcony in which patrons can oversee the
downtown area while they eat.

Plans have been filed with the city for a SOULCYCLE to join the offerings at Hyde Park Village. The New York City-based fitness studio has helped turn cycling into a nationwide exercise phenomenon since opening in 2006; the company is currently hiring team members to staff the Tampa studio.
West Coast gym chain EōS FITNESS is expanding east with five locations in Tampa scheduled to open this year. Known for their low cost monthly memberships, EōS locations offers amenities like “The Yard,” a large turf area for battle rope and weighted sled workouts, plus a cinema where members can watch movies during their workouts. Specific locations have not yet been announced.
Two new restaurants spearheaded by restaurateur Richard Sandoval are projected to open in the Tampa MARRIOTT WATERSIDE HOTEL & MARINA in early 2019. Garrison Tavern is slated to replace Champions Sports Bar, and another restaurant will be added off the rear lobby. Both additions will add street-level access and outdoor seating areas to the hotel.
Homebuilder LENNAR is developing a new community of 152 single-family homes called Southport along Westshore Boulevard south of Gandy Boulevard. The company says homes will range from three to five bedrooms and will be priced in the $300,000s.
