Aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery spoke to me because I love seeing the immediate difference I am able to make in my patients’ lives. I can’t tell you how many people cry during their post-ops. If you know me, you know I end up crying with them.
The biggest difference between Tampa and my home state of Wisconsin is the unbelievable weather. I don’t miss living in the snow and scraping ice off of my windshield!
When I’m looking for a great dinner in South Tampa after work, I head to Forbici. We had never been when they sponsored a Parents’ Night Out at our son’s school. It’s an easy, family friendly place to go and close to the office. Plus, their pizza is amazing!
When my family and I are celebrating a special occasion, you’ll find us at Oxford Exchange. My fiancé has always loved it there. It was one of our first dates. We’re even getting married there this spring!
For a guilty pleasure in South Tampa, it’s tough to narrow down where to go. I am definitely a sweets person, so I would choose Yogurtology. Being able to pick from so many different options and make it all myself is what makes my inner (and previous) “big-boned” kid happy.
My favorite kid-friendly spot in Tampa is Armature Works. It’s perfect for us. We can each pick what we want to eat and then let our son run around while we enjoy dinner and a glass of wine.
To get out on the water in South Tampa — don’t laugh — we really enjoy taking our dogs to the Davis Islands Dog Beach. We have a Doberman and a Shiba Inu. Our son, Christopher, chases them around, and we get to pet a bunch of random dogs. It’s a dog-lover’s dream.
We like to live healthy in South Tampa by making room in our crazy schedules for CAMP Tampa. It’s become our family ritual. We take a Saturday morning workout with Reggie and then we head out to take our son to golf lessons afterward.
My favorite Tampa hidden gem is Radiant Church. We never miss a Sunday.
