GLAZER VISION FOUNDATION
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have partnered with the Glazer Vision Foundation to create a colorful new mural currently at the northern part of the Armature Works property. The mural is a part of the #OneShareOnePair campaign, where for every post of the mural on Instagram with the hashtag, an eye exam and a pair of glasses will be donated to a child in need. The Glazer Family Foundation has been providing vision correction for underserved children in the Tampa area for over a decade through their Vision Foundation.
MILKIN’ IT
Opening in the Channel District, Milkin’ It is a coffee shop and cereal bar set to open in mid-September. The concept will give patrons an option of nostalgic cereals like Fruity Pebbles or Cap’n Crunch. However, the café has switched out ordinary milk options and replaced them with three unique alternatives: milk made with brown sugar, almond milk made with coconut sugar and cornflake-infused cereal milk. Milkin’ It will also have a bakery section, smoothies, sandwiches, espresso drinks and iced coffee. The establishment will offer indoor and outdoor seating, along with an eventual takeout service.
PETERBROOKE CHOCOLATIER
Popular chocolate shop Peterbrooke Chocolatier will open a shop in Downtown Tampa in September. Local couple Ryan and Jennifer Hill will run the shop and feature decadent items like truffles, handmade caramels and cherry cordials. They will also fill the shop with other chocolate treats like chocolate-covered cookies and strawberries hand-dipped in Peterbrooke’s blend of milk, dark and white chocolate. The location will open on the first floor of the Skypoint building, across from Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.
HOWL-O-SCREAM
Busch Gardens and Adventure Island have expanded their summer hours and event schedule. Under their new rules, all guests must wear masks, practice social distancing and reserve their tickets before arriving at either park. The annual nighttime Halloween event Howl-O-Scream will operate at a limited capacity from September 25 to November 1 at Busch Gardens. To abide by social distancing guidelines, scare zones and entertainment will be outdoors. The popular “Fiends” show will be held outside at the Festive Field Stage. Rides and attractions will also be open during the event.
