In these uncertain times, Tampa has come together as a community to support its small businesses. Now, you can even do it in person. Locally owned restaurants across Tampa are taking their first steps at reopening at a limited capacity for dine-in services.
Below is a list of local restaurants that have reopened their doors. Some have allowed only outdoor seating or indoor seating at 25% or a combination of both. The list is certainly incomplete, so please email mckenna.kelley@tampamagazines.com with additional locally owned Tampa restaurants that are now open for business.
As the situation progress, changes will continue to be made. We highly suggest calling, checking restaurants’ websites or their social media for any more changes concerning hours of operation or closures.

Oxford Exchange

On Wednesday, you could step foot back on the iconic checkered Oxford Exchange floors for dine-in service. You must make a reservation, and they will only accept credit cards or gift cards. If you aren’t quite ready for seating yet, Oxford Exchange is still offering pick up or delivery through Uber Eats.
Mermaid Tavern

At exactly 12:01 a.m. on May 4, Mermaid Tavern in Seminole Heights opened up its doors to customers again. You can find their quirky menu on their website, and all food is available to go. For delivery, head over to Uber Eats for their food and drink menu.

Cafe European’s beautiful patio opened Tuesday to customers for dinner. The cafe is taking the necessary precautions to ensure proper social distancing, and it has six tables available. If you can’t grab a seat, Cafe European is still offering curbside pick up.

Datz’s menu is made for some major munching, and now you can even do it in public — six feet away from others, that is. The St. Petersburg location opened Monday, and the Tampa location is opened Tuesday. Because of the restaurants’ limited dine-in services, they will not be taking reservations. Their quarantine menu is still available for delivery or pickup.

Malio’s Prime Steakhouse announced their reopening for Wednesday. The restaurant is continuing to take takeout orders that workers are bringing to its valet stand, or being delivered by its staff. The restaurant made the news during quarantine for its cheeky free addition of toilet paper wrapped in the restaurant’s logo.

Meat Market

If you dine in at Meat Market, hand sanitizer will be available, all menus will either be disposable or sanitized, and there will be a temperature stop point where the restaurant will allow no one with a fever of 100 degrees or more in the restaurant. This classic neighborhood bar will welcome back, well, the neighborhood. The Channelside bar opened up its outdoor seating, and all its dine-in service options will be on a first availability basis.
