Kali Rabaut, founder of Blue House Florals, combines her passion for musical theater and flowers in striking bouquets. Trained as a singer, Rabaut has performed locally at the Straz, Stageworks Theatre and other venues. During the pandemic, she found another creative outlet by growing, teaching and arranging flowers at her Tampa Heights home.
Inspired by native Florida species and local blooms such as cosmos, cornflowers, marigolds, cockscomb and zinnias, Rabaut’s arrangements evoke the complexity of musical compositions. She places specific flowers to create a crescendo of color, while other florals and greenery provide harmony, melody and texture.

Her mobile floral installation, titled “Flower Bike,” is both performance and interactive art. Composed of blooms from her garden, Rabaut brings enough stems for her audience to create their own floral masterpiece.
