Joining South Howard’s thriving dining scene, BluWave Sushi took over the former Bar Asia location near the corner of Howard Avenue and Cleveland Street during the holiday season.
The restaurant relocated from Pinellas Park, where they’d been serving up fan favorites like the Tsunami Roll (rice paper wrapped with krab mix, tuna, salmon, cucumber, avocado, spring mix and carrots drizzled with spicy mayo and eel sauce) and the Scallop Bomb Roll (tempura shrimp, cucumber, baked scallops, krab mix, eel sauce).
Manager Harry Cò says his team is willing to use all their resources to please customers’ sushi palates. “Whatever they want, however they want it, if we can comply, we will accommodate it,” he adds. BluWave makes their sauces in house, including their signature blue wasabi mayo. Beyond sushi, BluWave also offers hibachi, yakisoba noodle dishes and fried rice.
For happy hour from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. daily, nigiri and draft beers are $1, select rolls are half off, and cocktail drinks are buy one, get one; SoHo’s late night revelers can stop in for a bite until 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.
