Tampa International Airport unveiled half a dozen new pieces of public art that will soon be installed throughout the property, including a new signature sculpture by Matthew Mazzotta. Called HOME, the 21-foot pink flamingo will serve as the airport’s signature piece when it is installed in the main terminal in November.
Joffrey’s Coffee & Tea Company will open a flagship café at Midtown Tampa in early 2021. The specialty coffee roaster, which has been headquartered in Tampa since its founding in 1984, is the official specialty coffee of Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line. Joffrey’s new café will be open throughout the day serving coffee and tea beverages, plus wine and beer in the evening. Unique offerings will include a locally brewed beer made with Joffrey’s coffee. A unique printer will create latte art atop coffee drinks using preselected images, selfies and other uploaded designs.
Originally slated to open as a physical restaurant in St. Petersburg and eventually Tampa, the Naked Farmer has launched a virtual farmers market in both cities. Naked Farmer partners with local farmers to serve fresh produce and sustainably raised meat and intends to serve seasonally rotating menus. The digital farmers market currently offers boxes of fresh produce, grass-fed beef, free-range chicken and local cage-free eggs for pickup or delivery.
The luxury tower is now under construction on Bayshore Boulevard. The 22-story condominium building features 70 residences centered around a fifth-floor amenity level with a resort-style pool, outdoor kitchen, fitness center and private clubrooms. Architect Stefano Falbo says his team took inspiration from the surrounding Hyde Park homes for the tower’s design, which was crafted in tiers to maximize views of Hillsborough Bay and downtown.
In South Tampa’s SoHo district, the restaurant has rebranded as a two-concept space called Water and Flour. Water is a full-service restaurant that focuses on sushi, California bowls and other standbys from the previous menu. Flour is a quick-service concept with pizzas, pastas and salads. Water and Flour will also offer online ordering and delivery.
