As the puck drops on the ice for the first time tomorrow, Lightning fans will notice some things aren’t quite the same as they were last season in Amalie Arena. Amalie has introduced a line of new menus, a new restaurant and other improvements designed to enhance visitors’ dining experience.
Capital Tacos has moved into Section 321 and will offer special twists on some of their crowd favorites. From the Brisket Bolt to Chips & Lightning Salsa, the Tex-Mex chain’s new menu is prepared to cater to Lightning fans in Amalie Arena.
Aside from creating specialized tacos, Capital Tacos is launching the Taco of the Month. Each month, a Lightning player will team up with the restaurant to create a new taco. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the taco will be donated to the charity of the player’s choice.
Furthermore, the restaurants already established in Amalie Arena are either updating old menus or creating completely new ones for the 2018-2019 season. For example, poke bowls have been added to the in-suite menus, Vology Loge has added peppercorn crusted flank steak and the Chase Club has added Southern chicken and dumplings. The Lexus Lounge and Firestick Grill are revamping their menus as well.
Concession stands are also launching new options. To name a few, Rumfish Grill will be offering tuna poke nachos, Mise en Place will be offering a gelato cookie sandwich and Irish 31 will be offering chicken pot pie bites.
New kiosks are being unveiled at Ford’s Garage, Papa John’s, Bay Club Sliders and Capital Tacos. These self-service kiosks will minimize wait times by allowing customers to order and pay for their meal without a cashier.
Lastly, Amalie Arena has introduced the Last Straw Program, an initiative to eliminate plastic straws and stirrers in the arena. This strategy is tied to the Green for Our Paradise program, the arena’s platform of recycling and sustainability.
