To show off the perfect table layout for an outdoor summer evening celebration, the team at Tampa’s FH Events (1717 W. Kennedy Blvd., fheventdesigns.com) created this eclectic, colorful setup at the Davis Islands Garden Club.
“This is fun and festive, and it’s something a little bit different for summer,” says Stephanie Prenatt, who owns FH Events with her husband and fellow designer, Marty. They included ranunculus, yellow freesias, mini-gerbera daisies in yellow and pink, and pink proteas for pops of color, plus plastic seating and stemware to reflect natural light and make cleanup easy.
The Prenatts, with the help of team members Collette Barrington and Alyson Smith, also created the more modern layout seen above. Stephanie Prenatt says copper table accessories and anything with a marble look are hot this season. The flowers were kept simple with blue delphinium and hydrangeas.
“For the greenery, you could even use clippings from your yard,” Prenatt says. “Just put them in a pot.”
For a Fourth of July event that reads chic rather than cheesy, Prenatt suggests swapping the indigo napkins for red ones or using Independence Day-themed serving plates.
“Find two or three key elements in your decor to be the real focal points, whether it’s a linen or string lighting,” she adds. “That’s what wows people.”
