Whether it’s a first date or the hundredth, choosing a date night destination in Tampa Bay can be overwhelming. That’s why we’ve curated a list of standout spots, from quiet, intimate settings to relaxed, playful venues. Whatever your vibe, this guide helps you navigate first-date jitters, plan an unforgettable Valentine’s Day, or find the perfect spot for an anniversary dinner. Read on to discover our top picks for an unforgettable evening.

Right Around the Corner

Right Around the Corner Arcade Bar
2244 Central Ave., St. Petersburg | (813) 360-0766

If you’re looking for an activity-based date, Right Around the Corner Arcade Bar is a standout. Founded in 2016, this relaxed spot even played a role in a real-life love story: the founder’s best friend met — and later married — the woman he brought here on their first date. The two-story venue features about 30 retro and arcade games, dart boards for friendly competition, 12-inch pizzas and flatbreads available Thursday through Saturday, and an extensive drink list with wines, craft beers and seltzers. It offers a fun, comfortable setting and an easy way to mix games, conversation and good drinks.

Barcelona Wine Bar

Barcelona Wine Bar
2907 W. Bay to Bay Blvd., Suite A100, Tampa | (813) 722-0202

Although it’s a Spanish tapas and wine bar, Barcelona Wine Bar is infused with the spirit of Tampa. Guests can enjoy views of the bay from the wraparound outdoor patio or notice the bar’s wood, which was once used to dry tobacco leaves as an homage to Ybor. With small plates designed for sharing and a wine list featuring 400 bottles and 40 by the glass options, the restaurant offers a neighborhood vibe ideal for a date night or an evening with friends. Whether you enjoy scratch-made focaccia with a charcuterie-style Aperitivo Board, a sample of popular tapas, or lingering over a bottle of Recaredo, Barcelona Wine Bar provides a lively setting that encourages connection for any occasion.

JW Marriott Tampa Water Street

JW Marriott Tampa Water Street
510 Water Street, Tampa | (813) 221-4950

Indulge in a romantic escape at JW Marriott Tampa Water Street, where effortless luxury sets the tone for an unforgettable night. Savor an intimate dinner at Driftlight Steakhouse, then elevate the evening with handcrafted cocktails and stunning panoramic views at Beacon Rooftop Lounge. Unwind the rest of your night in a serene, spa-inspired guestroom, a private haven for relaxation, connection, and a date-night experience that lingers long after the evening dims.

Kinjo

Kinjo
224 S. Boulevard, Tampa | (813) 304-0000

From the founders of Noble Rice and Michelin-starred Koya, Kinjo — meaning “neighborhood” in Japanese — is inspired by co-owner Eric Fralick’s training in Japan and a small Italian restaurant he frequented there. The result is an itameshi wafu concept that blends Italian cuisine with Japanese sensibilities. Operating out of Koya’s event space while its permanent home is completed, Kinjo features a coastal California feel with warm lighting, soft jazz and handmade Japanese plates. Ingredients are imported from Italy and Japan, and the sourdough, focaccia and pasta are made from scratch daily. Kinjo’s shareable dishes, such as the Akami Spaghettoni or cappelletti, turn every meal into a memorable date-night experience.

Salt Shack on the Bay

Salt Shack on the Bay
5415 W. Tyson Ave., Tampa | (813) 444-4569

There’s no better place for date night than a spot with stunning waterfront views and unforgettable sunsets. Add coastal favorites like fire-grilled wild-caught fresh catch with herb butter or crispy, coconut-crusted Gulf shrimp, and the evening is already a win. Sip a tropical cocktail while sharing Gaspar’s Tuna Tartare to start, and it’s easy to see why Salt Shack on the Bay is consistently named the Best First Date Restaurant.

BellaBrava
204 Beach Drive, St. Petersburg | 727-895-5515
1015 Gramercy Lane, Tampa | 813-524-5226
16722 Focus Loop, Land O Lakes | 813-486-4890

For two decades, BellaBrava has been the heart of Tampa Bay’s most memorable evenings. When you’re looking for the perfect date night, nothing compares to the warm, inviting atmosphere of our New World Trattoria. From the moment you walk through our doors, you’ll feel the difference—comfortable service that makes you feel at home, an ambiance that sparks connection, and flavors that impress every time. Our chefs craft authentic Italian dishes with a modern twist, paired with handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine list. Whether it’s your first date, an anniversary celebration, or just a night to reconnect, BellaBrava is where unforgettable moments happen.

Red Thread

Red Thread
300 1st Ave. N., St. Petersburg | (727) 202-7566

Inspired by the red string theory, an East Asian legend that an invisible thread unites people destined to meet, the owners of St. Pete’s Saigon Blonde created Red Thread, a food and drink concept influenced by the spice route. Each dish and cocktail puts a twist on something familiar with unexpected spices and ingredients. The Pink Medi-Tini flips the dirty martini with pink pickled turnips, while Coffee Date blends Turkish coffee, cardamom and dates for a new take on the espresso martini. A cozy interior or scenic patio view, paired with shareable plates like the Oasis Trio — a sampler of three dips with fresh bread — makes Red Thread ideal for any date night.
