Dr. Guillermo Donate was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He began his career performing cancer and bone marrow transplant research before obtaining his doctorate degree in podiatric medicine.

After his residency at the Tampa VA hospital, Dr. Donate established a very successful surgical practice at the Bay Pines VA Hospital. While at Bay Pines, he was an associate clinical professor in the University of South Florida’s Plastic Surgery Residency Pro-gram. In June 2012, he started the American Foot & Ankle Clinic of Tampa Bay and developed it into one of the area’s most successful practices. Outside of the office, Dr. Donate is an avid boxer, runner and martial artist and has been married to his wife, Melissa, for 17 years.
