A Tampa native, Dr. Sonal Patel is a fellowship-trained endocrinologist who specializes in helping patients manage diabetes, thyroid disease and a wide range of hormonal and metabolic conditions. Her areas of expertise include continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and insulin pump therapy, pituitary and adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, parathyroid and calcium disorders, male hypogonadism and diagnostic ultrasound.

Dr. Patel earned her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine is in Grenada, West Indies before completing her Internal Medicine residency at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and her Endocrinology fellowship at Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

Her background also includes academic medicine, research and physician education. Dr. Patel has served as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology at Drexel University/Hahnemann Hospital, participated in academic research studies, advised on in-hospital diabetes care policies and presented at grand rounds, professional conferences and community educational events. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology.
