Allison Wilkins, affectionately known as “Ms. Alli” by her students, has been singing and performing with children since childhood. She believes humans are born musical and recalls music-making as a central part of her early memories. With a background in drama and voice from the Pittsburgh Playhouse and a degree in psychology with a focus on special education from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Wilkins founded Allisongs for Tots in 2006. For over 15 years, her classes have brought babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their families together to experience the fun of music-making.
Most recently, she collaborated with Jim Morris of Morrisound Productions to release a new CD featuring diverse genres and Tampa Bay-inspired songs. She has written and produced 40 original songs in Tampa that are performed in her weekly classes.
“I believe you’re never too old or too young to dream big and start something new. Others my age might be retiring, but I’m just warming up,” says Wilkins.
When she’s not creating music, Wilkins enjoys spending time with her six grandchildren and playing tennis.
