Cassandra Garvey is the founder of Career Focus, a Supported Employment agency that supports individuals with disabilities in securing and maintaining employment. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit is dedicated to helping Social Security Disability beneficiaries transition back into the workforce. Through its youth programs, Career Focus introduces high school students to various career industries and provides career readiness workshops to prepare them for the workforce.

With a background in nursing, Garvey found purpose in serving this often-overlooked community in the job market. Inspired by her mother’s advice to live with sincerity and faith, she approaches her work with a desire to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their career goals with compassion and dedication. 

“As women, we are powerful and capable of achieving anything. Having a circle of sisters to turn to is priceless on this journey of growth,” says Garvey.
