During her first volunteer role at a senior living facility, Kimberly developed a passion for promoting health and helping others. She fostered this passion into a career and co-founded MaxHealth – a Tampa based primary care organization focused on the health and wellbeing of seniors. “MaxHealth provides primary care services to nearly 80,000 patients across Florida,” says Kimberly. “We focus on understanding the needs of our patients to provide high-quality care.”
One of the core tenets of MaxHealth is to simplify the healthcare experience. MaxHealth aims to make healthcare as trouble free as possible by providing its members with access to teams of care managers and patient advocates focused on helping them get the care when they need it. In many cases, these needs extend beyond what is normally considered primary care and focus on social determinants of health such as food security, housing, and human connection.
“Much of our health and well-being is derived from our ability to connect. If our human connection is cut off due to income, disability, or age, we generally tend to degenerate more rapidly,” says Kimberly. “It’s rewarding to provide services that help our members live longer, healthier lives.”
