When he’s not serving as the co-founder of ASAP Capital Partners, LLC, Drew Pittman is embracing his new role as the captain of Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla.
ABOUT ME
I was raised as a Pasco Pirate in Dade City. Pasco County schools used to be closed on Gasparilla Monday, and we frequently came to watch the parade. It made a lasting impression, and I was hooked from an early age!
I was honored to serve as a Courtier when George Steinbrenner reigned as King of YMKG. Among the Court that year was a remarkable young woman, Anne Arthur, who soon after became my wife. 27 years later, we both cherish YMKG’s special role in our love story.
MY LOCAL KNOWLEDGE
What I love most about Tampa is its perfect blend of convenience and vibrancy. We’re surrounded by top-tier entertainment, world-class dining, and the nation’s best airport while just a short drive from pristine beaches and the serene charm of inland Florida. This city truly offers the best of all worlds.
The historic Tampa Theatre holds a special place in my heart. I vividly remember visiting on a school field trip during elementary school, marveling at its breathtaking beauty—the vibrant walls, the starlit ceiling, and the enchanting atmosphere. It’s astounding to think this iconic building is approaching its centennial. Every Tampa resident should experience and support this cultural treasure!
The Tampa Riverwalk is always a nice place to take out-of-towners. You can see so much of downtown and end up at Armature Works, which is always a fun and lively spot!
It’s not that new anymore, but Redneck Wine’s expanded space is a frequent stop for me and my friends. I love trying and buying wines suggested by owner Tim Alberdi and his equally talented staff!
My friends and I enjoy quick, casual spots like Pappas on Bay to Bay Boulevard, where we have their roasted chicken paired with a side salad and iced tea. Another favorite is 220 East on Davis Islands.
I love being outdoors, whether it’s hunting, fishing, hiking, playing a round of golf, or working on ranch projects. There’s something deeply fulfilling about connecting with nature, embracing the challenge of outdoor activities, and enjoying the sense of accomplishment that comes from working with my hands and exploring the beauty of the natural world.
I love to hike in the woods, including the Withlacoochee State Forest or boat in Tampa Bay.
Our family is blessed to be the stewards of a ranch an hour north of Tampa on the Pasco/Hernando County line. When the weather is nice, we love walking, picking and eating wild blackberries, fishing, and hunting.
As a Floridian who values both growth and land preservation, I’ve embraced the importance of finding innovative ways to be a responsible landowner and steward. Strategies like land mitigation, conservation easements, and habitat protection offer thoughtful approaches to balancing these sometimes competing ideals.
