The Princeton Review recently recognized both the UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH  FLORIDA and the UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA’S entrepreneurship programs. USF’s Muma College of Business took the No. 8 spot, while UT’s Sykes College of Business was ranked for the first time on the list at 37th.

Cross-Bay Ferry

The CROSS-BAY FERRY returned to service on November 1 and will run through April 30. It will not operate on Mondays and Tuesdays unless there is a Tampa Bay Lightning home game, and it will not run on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day or Gasparilla. Passengers can catch the ferry from the Tampa Convention Center on the Tampa side and the Vinoy Yacht Basin on the St. Petersburg side; when the Lightning play at home, the final trip out of Tampa will leave 30 minutes after the game ends. Tickets start at $3 for kids, $5 for seniors, military and students, and $8 for adults.

A new 23-story apartment tower targeted at University of Tampa students called THE HENRY is under construction on the corner of Ashley Drive and Tyler Street. The Henry will house 537 residents in 188 apartments and will have 1,800 square feet of restaurant and retail space on the first floor. Opening is slated for the fall of 2021.

Datz

DATZ has opened its third location at the Tampa Convention Center. This satellite restaurant features a grab-and-go style deli serving salads, soups, sandwiches and desserts. The location is only open to convention-goers during events.

The Ybor City Jamaican restaurant CEPHAS is closing its doors, and Mita’s Kitchen & The Lion’s Den will take over the former Cephas space on Fourth Avenue. Mita’s Kitchen & The Lion’s Den is currently located on Seventh Avenue above the Big Easy Bar. The owner of Cephas says he plans to run a juice and aloe stand inside of Tequilas Mexican restaurant on Seventh Avenue.

Oxford Exchange

Food Network ranked OXFORD EXCHANGE as one of the most Instagrammable restaurants in America. The list was made up of one restaurant from each state, and Oxford Exchange was Florida’s representative. From the artistic food and drinks in the restaurant and Champagne bar to the elegant interior design in the coffee shop and tea bar, there are plenty of photo ops throughout the space.

Cigar City Brewing

Paste magazine included CIGAR CITY BREWING on its list of the 50 best breweries of the 2010s. Cigar City was ranked at No. 20 on the list and was the only Tampa brewery to be recognized. The brewery was ranked in part because of its successful national expansion, thanks to the success of its popular Jai Alai IPA.

The first Tampa location of SUGAR FACTORY is slated to open in December at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. Sugar Factory is known for its over-the-top burgers, milkshakes, pizzas, steaks and salads, plus candy-adorned goblet cocktails. The restaurant-slash-candy store is also known for its floor-to-ceiling candy wall, with more than 500 types of bulk and novelty candy.
