Construction of the first condo tower in the WESTSHORE MARINA DISTRICT is underway. The tower is set to be completed by the end of 2021. It will consist of 113 condominiums and seven townhomes. The location gives future residents views of both the Tampa and St. Petersburg skylines.

MEAT MARKET is now open in Hyde Park Village. With existing locations in Miami Beach, San Juan and Palm Beach, Hyde Park Village was selected as the first Tampa location for the upscale steak house. With prime cuts, fresh fish and seafood, it is a new culinary option in the village.
The SEMINOLE HARD ROCK HOTEL & CASINO recently completed its $700 million renovation, including a new hotel tower, pool, and the Rock Spa and Salon. A new grand entryway is also the new home of Elvis Presley’s 24K gold leaf piano, unveiled this summer.

WARBY PARKER is set to open a second location in Tampa. The eyewear company has plans to build a 1,725-square-foot store inside International Plaza. This will be the first Tampa location to include an in-store exam room.
SAND SURF CO. boutique on South Howard Avenue will be opening a second, flagship location in the Westshore Marina District. Sand Surf Co. is the only soft-goods retailer to be signed to the district so far. Developers said they were looking for something that would tie into the marina aspect of the project, and Sand Surf Co. fit the bill.

Plastic surgeon Tony Watt has joined Dr. Abraham Marcadis to form the new MARCADIS WATT PLASTIC SURGERY & MED SPA. Dr. Watt recently completed his residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of South Florida and has handled over 2,000 plastic surgery cases.
F45 TRAINING is coming to the Midtown Tampa development. The fitness studio, backed by actor Mark Wahlberg, signed a lease for a 2,500-square-foot space in Midtown. F45 is known for its high intensity group workouts with proven results.
OpenTable released its list of 100 best AL FRESCO RESTAURANTS in America, and Tampa’s Ulele and Ocean Prime were named among the best in the U.S. Multiple locations of the Columbia also made the list.
Start crackin’ — MR. AND MRS. CRAB has opened a new South Tampa location on Gandy Boulevard. The popular seafood restaurant allows customers the choice of spice level in their dish and various sauces. Mr. and Mrs. Crab is planning to open another Tampa location near the University of South Florida.

The Princeton Review named the UNIVERSITY OF TAMPA as one of the best colleges for undergraduates in the country. The organization specifically noted the university’s hands-on learning experiences and its many resources and opportunities for students.
Tampa was ranked the third-best American city for MILLENNIAL TRAVELERS in 2019. Out of over 50 cities, Tampa ranked high for its Instagramability, affordable airfare, dynamic nightlife, affordable food and drink, and availability of experiences.
Tampa’s first dog bar, TWO SHEPHERDS TAPROOM, is set to open by the end of this year. The indoor-outdoor dog bar will sit on an acre of land in Drew Park. The indoor concept will have bathrooms and a bar and will include an air-conditioned dog park, perfect for those hot Florida months.
