Whether it’s part of a New Year’s resolution or a resurgence of motivation in time for summer, finding healthy options outside your own kitchen can be challenging. Nevertheless, we’ve rounded up some of the best spots in Tampa Bay for wholesome meals. From acai bowls and unique salads to dishes featuring organic ingredients and seasonal produce, these hot spots offer a delicious and nutritious alternative when dining out.

Café Eden
Located inside Abby’s Health & Nutrition, Café Eden, under the expertise of Chef Mike Beyruti, puts a healthy spin on well-loved classics. Void of artificial flavors and colors, high fructose corn syrup or MSG, the expansive menu incorporates organic and locally sourced ingredients from independent farmers whenever possible. While the salmon croquettes and the almond-crusted cod are popular picks, Café Eden has options for every taste and dietary restriction, including gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, soy-free and vegetarian choices. From hearty mains and sandwiches to lighter salads and juices, every option available is bright, fresh and delicious.

Karma Juice Bar & Eatery

Karma Juice Bar & Eatery
For the past decade, Karma Juice & Eatery has been delighting customers with clean, organic options that are as delicious as they are healthy. What started as a juice bar has grown into a diverse menu featuring smoothies, vibrant acai bowls, juices, soups, unique sandwiches like the naanwich, and salads such as the avocado mint, catering to everyone from MLB stars to out-of-town tourists. With two locations in St. Petersburg and one in Clearwater, Karma prides itself on offering made-from-scratch items, all prepared with fresh, organic ingredients, including gluten-free granola and the mushroom soup, which takes four days to perfect and incorporates 14 to 17 different kinds of mushrooms.

The Nutrition Factory

The Nutrition Factory
In addition to protein shakes and custom-crafted bowls available for pick-up, The Nutrition Factory offers meal plans centered on desired nutritional needs. Regardless if it’s part of a meal plan or in-store pick-up, every ingredient is gluten-free, seed oil free and antibiotic free. Because of the flexibility and variety of ingredients, there isn’t one dish that stands out above the rest, but a few favorites include the Strawberry Banana protein shake; the Athlete Bowl with Thai sweet potato noodles, roasted lemon broccoli and roasted herb salmon; and the meal prep option of brown rice, grilled barbeque chicken and roasted garlic ginger beans.

Grain & Berry

Grain & Berry
Fast casual, but make it healthy. That’s the vibe at Grain & Berry, which has multiple locations across Tampa Bay and offers nutritious options ranging from fresh-pressed juices like Hale to the Kale, with kale and pineapple, to superfood bowls. From the newer specialty toasts to the popular acai bowls and layered parfaits, everything on the menu is made to order and can be crafted to accommodate dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free diets. While the signature Grain & Berry Bowl, layered with granola, fruit, nut butters and coconut shavings, is a popular pick, savory options like the Let’s Go Pesto are sure to please the palate.
