Brought to you by HGC Design Build
What was once a small, boutique design-build company has blossomed into an industry-disrupting conglomerate.
“It feels like a lifetime ago, but it’s amazing to think that it’s only been seven years,” Gilkey says.
A former Buccaneers offensive lineman, Gilkey started the company with a small team hoping to
bring a greater level of quality and transparency to an industry desperately needing it. Success quickly followed, and the small team grew.
Fast-forward to 2023 and Gilkey now owns multiple companies all focused on disrupting, and he’s not doing it alone. What better way to disrupt than to add one of the NFL’s top centers, Super Bowl champion and Pro Bowler Ryan Jensen. Jensen joined the team earlier this year as an owner. It’s fitting that after only being on the team for a few months, the decorated NFL Center would help HGC win its second Home Builder of the Year Award.
“While we don’t do anything for the accolades, it’s always an honor to be recognized as an
industry leader,” says Jensen. “It’s a tribute to our team who works tirelessly to serve our clients with integrity.”
While much of what they’re working on isn’t public yet, what is public and very visible is their beautiful design-build work. One of their most recent builds directly on the Bay is evidence of that. Gilkey and Jensen are excited for the future.
They’ve expanded into the Denver market and outside of their design-build work, the team is focused on new development projects, additional branding and marketing partnerships, and the sports and entertainment industry.
Gilkey is also following another passion – public speaking.
“Sharing my experiences with others, building relationships, and helping transform lives is really my passion,” Gilkey says. “If I can use our company’s successes to further that we’re all winning.”
