Set on a peaceful property in Thonotosassa, this renovation by Greaves Construction proves that reimagining an existing home can be just as transformative as building from the ground up. The biggest challenge was creating a sleek, modern kitchen that still complemented the home’s rustic character. Contemporary cabinetry, large-format porcelain tile flooring and clean-lined finishes are balanced by a backsplash that ties into the home’s original style.
To open the space, the team removed a block wall, incorporated an exterior storage room into the kitchen and raised the ceiling by 12 inches. A new window above the sink frames views of the property’s pond, while additional cabinetry, soft-close all-plywood cabinets, updated appliances and LED wafer lighting improve both function and storage. A wet bar on the lanai completes the renovation, creating the perfect setup for the homeowner’s frequent gatherings while making the entire home feel larger, brighter and more inviting.
