In the heart of historic Hyde Park, Jade Timmerman of JNT Interiors sought to breathe new life into a historic bungalow, preserving its aged character and rich heritage, while embracing modern elements for her clients–a busy and active young family of five.
The project was started in 2019. The formerly 2,500 square-foot historic home was reworked to bring the total living space up to 5,200 square feet for a 2022 move in date. Two stories, five bedrooms, five and a half baths and a two-car garage accommodate the young couple and their littles.
Enlisting Timmerman’s expertise, the family was able to achieve a ‘forever family home’ that accommodates both their active lifestyle along with cherished family heirlooms and antiques that will be passed down to the next generation.
For the project, Timmerman drew inspiration from Southern homes. “The south embodies warmth and richness,” she says. “I wanted to bring a sense of family and togetherness.”
As such, one of her elements of this project is its cohesion.”Each room has its unique elements and feeling, but it all makes sense as one moves through the home,” she shares. “Everything works in alignment and harmony.”
