Acting as a retreat during Tampa Bay Lightning and Buccaneers games, Enrique Crespo of Crespo Design Group wanted his clients’ living room space to allow for versatility. The L-shaped couch from Century Furniture is equipped with performance fabric, to withstand wear and tear or the occassional spill during an intense game. The two loop chairs from Arteriors provide even more seating options while the light blue ottomans from Hickory Chair can act as foot rests or small coffee tables.

For Tampa Bay sports fans, the beginning of fall heralds something better than the holiday season – football and hockey season. It’s a time when fans flock to Raymond James Stadium and Amalie Arena from near and far, but what does it mean to be a true Lightning and Buccaneers fan?

Ask Enrique Crespo’s clients, who purchased a luxurious condo in the Tampa Edition specifically for lodging and entertaining when they come to Tampa from Destin for sporting events.

This family wasn’t content with watching the games on the big screen, which is why they snagged one of the 37 residences at The Tampa Edition, knowing the heart of all the action is the place to be. There’s arguably no better locale for a Lightning fan. In the lap of luxury at The Edition, the family is just steps away from Thunder Alley. For the Bucs games, they’re less than fifteen minutes by car.

With guests and children in mind, they sought to create an elegant environment while using durable materials and performance fabrics that could stand up to entertaining.

As their third home, this enthusiastic family on the move sought to create a comfortable yet elevated and stylish haven for moments of rest and relaxation. To bring their vision to life, Enrique Crespo and his team at Crespo Design Group utilized soothing neutral colors like grays and soft blues, along with metallic touches throughout the 1,930-square-foot 2-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home.

Although over six hours from the family’s primary residence, elegance and style were still top of mind. Designer touches include a Made Goods chandelier, a custom bed with an oversized textile headboard and floating nightstands and plush Ann Gish bedding.

The result? A luxury game retreat.

The chandelier from Made Goods acts as a focal point of the space and the silver metal strips tie into the similar pattern in the chizzled wood base, terrazzo-topped coffee table from Global Views. The light blue swivel chairs from Hickory White match the daylight skyline and allow for easy conversation by the coffee table or a simple turn for a beautiful view.
The custom-made throw pillows and the blue ottomans from Hickory Chair add a pop of color to the home, which leans heavily on natural shades.
Crespo utilizes plants like this orchid as an organic way to bring natural beauty into a space. With different colors and textures, each plant gives a unique vibrancy and look to an area and this white orchid plays into the clean, crisp atmosphere of the kitchen.
The natural wood colored kitchen cabinets blend with the floor to create a modern, seamless and contemporary interiror. The swivel bar stools from Hickory White Furniture allow for dining versatility.
The master bedroom is emphasized wirh a dramatic headboard wall accented with feather wallpaper by Harlequin. The floating nightstands and bedframe were custom built and the chandelier from Visual Comfort adds the finishing touch.
The powder bath features wallpaper by Romo.
The guest room features a backdrop of blue metalic grasscloth from Omexco, lighting from Arteriors and coral accent pillows to contrast, yet compliment, the blue.
The foyer of the home truly pops with wallpaper from the France-based company Élitis, which is one of Crespo’s favorite companies to implement into a space. The console from Global Views is a piece of artwork for the eyes, while doubling as a light storage option. The lamps from Visual Comfort add a touch of gold to play off the wallpaper design.
