Set along the sugar-sand shores of Treasure Island, this four-story, five-bedroom residence serves as both a personal getaway and a vacation rental for its Germany-based owners. Seeking a contemporary, low-maintenance retreat for their time in Florida, the homeowners envisioned a space that would be equally suited for hosting guests while capturing the beauty of its beachfront setting.
Large windows and expansive glass doors maximize views of the Gulf, filling the home with natural light and creating a seamless connection between the interiors and outdoor living spaces. Throughout the residence, European-inspired design elements are paired with a sophisticated palette of warm neutrals and dark, moody accents.
The open-concept main living area embraces the home’s airy feel with soaring ceilings, a dramatic two-story view and thoughtfully curated furnishings. A statement Bethel chandelier draws the eye upward, while a spacious Vanguard sectional and intimate bar area create inviting spaces for gathering and entertaining.
Adjacent to the living room, the indoor kitchen continues the home’s clean-lined aesthetic with sleek cabinetry, contemporary finishes and a bold contrast between light surfaces and dark cabinetry. Appliances from Famous Tate, seating from Sunpan and cabinetry from McCabinets complete the space. Nearby, the dining room showcases one of the home’s most striking design moments, pairing a dramatic black accent wall with lighter furnishings. A whimsical Modern Forms chandelier hangs above a Four Hands dining table set atop a Jaipur area rug.
The top-floor primary suite serves as a private sanctuary with sweeping beach views from its adjoining balcony. A Caracole bed anchors the room, while Eastern Accents bedding adds comfort and texture. Venetian plaster walls by local artist Jesse Wilhelm, who has specialized in custom wall finishes and murals for more than two decades, bring depth and artistry to the space. Furnishings from Four Hands and Sunpan complement the room’s understated elegance, while sculptural ET2 lighting from Ripple Associates provides a contemporary finishing touch.
The primary bathroom continues the tranquil atmosphere with abundant natural light, a backlit IB Mirror and a striking soaking tub that serves as the focal point of the space. Faux greenery from Sarasota-based Lux Art Silks adds a refreshing organic element.
Throughout the guest bedrooms, coordinated lighting from Ripple Associates and Eastern Accents bedding create a cohesive design language, while individual accents give each room its own personality. Artwork from Uttermost and a turquoise Ann Selke coverlet in the fourth guest bedroom, add warmth and visual interest
