In the Home with Kylie Italiano

When it comes to interior design, Kylie Italiano considers herself a storyteller. As a senior designer for Studio M Interior Design, she wants to inspire people to let their home decor tell a story, as well. “I have always been fascinated by the way each project can be inspired by any one element,” Italiano says. “Whether it is a homeowner’s travel photos, a childhood memory, favorite artwork or an heirloom area rug. I love creating interiors that tell a story.”

Before joining Studio M, Italiano studied classical ballet
and creative writing, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in
Communication in her native Australia. Then her passion
for travel and adventure brought her stateside. Once in the
United States, Italiano graduated with honors in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design and Technology. She’s been creating interior designs in Florida for the past 10 years.

We asked Kylie to give us a list of some of her personal home-interior favorites.

1. Lighting to love
“Let this aged brass Neptune Chandelier by Julian Chichester light up your home.”

2. Furniture with feet
“These are just whimsical conversation starters.”

3. Pillows
“I love to add a pop of color with beautiful pillows in fabrics by Elitis.”

4. Metallics
“This nickel alloy clad cocktail table in German Silver finish from Bernhardt Furniture adds a metallic shine with beautiful hand carved details.”

5. Something organic
“I’m a big fan of nature. My fave has always been the fiddle leaf tree. Perfectly home in contemporary and

traditional settings alike.”

6. Wallcoverings
“Can instantly add visual interest, texture and color to any room. I love the Fougere Collection from Romo—contemporary prints inspired by the Royal Botanical Gardens of Europe.”

7. Candles
“My favorite scent right now: The Pomegranate Citrus Mercury Candle Bowl from Capri Blue Candles.”

8. Hand knotted area rug
“An investment piece that adds style, color and character to any home—a hand knotted wool rug will stand the test of time.”

9. A piece from my favorite designer
“This cloche by Barry Dixon can display desserts or cheeses or favorite treasures—classical and elegant.”
