Memorial Day weekend is slowly approaching and the Bay has many options for ways you can celebrate this three-day weekend. In true tradition of remembering the fallen, there are a few ceremonies being held throughout Tampa where you can pay your respects.
American Social

Pirate Water Taxi
Sail through Downtown Tampa on the hop-on, a hop-off boat ride that takes you around the bay while you gaze at the Tampa landscape. With a variety of museums, restaurants and other fun-filled activities, the Pirate Water Taxi makes it easier to visit them all. From May 27th to 29th, Military members, with valid IDs, can ride the taxi for free.

Florida Aquarium
This Memorial Day weekend, May 26th to the 29th, Military members can receive a free admission ticket with the purchase of another. The Florida Aquarium has two levels of fun-filled activities and experiences. On the main level, you can find a Splash Pad for kids, a touch experience with moon jellies, a 4-D theatre and a gift shop, so you can bring the fun home. The second floor has seven different galleries, exhibits and touch experiences, where you can feel sea creatures without backbones.

WTR Pool
Starting at 12 p.m. this Memorial Day, WTR Pool is throwing a pool party DJed and hosted by Gordo. Known as Tampa’s “ultimate waterside daylife destination,” guests can grab their favorite cocktail and dance the day away. Grab your tickets now for only 30 dollars.

Memorial Day family picnic
Veterans of Foreign War Post 4321 invites you to honor and remember those who have fallen. At 2 p.m. at the Canteen, hotdogs and hamburgers will be served and free for everyone. There will be games for kids of all ages to enjoy and a 50/50 raffle where the proceeds will go to VFW Auxiliary.

Sunset Music Festival
It’s that time of year when Tampa’s biggest music festival makes ground at Raymond James Stadium. For two days, Raymond James will be brought to life with colors, lasers and fireworks. Listen to your favorite EDM artists as you dance until 12 a.m. under the glowing lights.

Straz Center
In the Teco Theatre, Veterans and the arts community have come together to create this show piece. In showcasing this event, both parties hope for the community to gain a deeper understanding of what Veterans have experienced. Take part in this free event at 6 p.m. to honor and understand your community and peers.

The American Legion “U.S.S Tampa” Post 5
For its 100th year, the American Legion is hosting its annual Memorial Day ceremony. The memorial ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. and encourages the community to come out to pay their respects. Families are invited to bring a flag along with them to flag wave the event. Remembrance wreath registration begins at 10 a.m. if you wish to have your group be a part of the roll call during the post everlasting portion.

Busch Gardens
The Summer Nights Celebration begins again this Memorial Day weekend. Guests can enjoy a dazzling showcase of fireworks, lasers, colorful fountain displays and other special effects shows. Enjoy live music from various DJs throughout the park at their block party plazas. Experience thrills and intense drops on one of their eight roller coasters. All this and more until August 7th.

Skate World
Stop by your local Skate World adorned in red, white and blue to receive 2 dollars off of your admission ticket. Skate around the rink to your favorite hit songs or watch your little ones glide across the 12,000 square foot roller rink.
