Ron Weisser is a Corvette enthusiast. More precisely, he’s a fanatic for 1967 Corvettes. He’s owned nine Vettes (including three ’67s), but his current love is the ’67 convertible he shares with his inseparable passenger: Savage, a German shepherd.
Weisser, who calls himself a “serial entrepreneur,” bought his first Corvette, a 1959, in high school. His father made it clear that he would have to work to pay for it, so Weisser sold French loaf sandwiches to college kids. That work ethic led Weisser to become a well-known Tampa-area developer and home builder, with his latest project being the SUR Club, a St. Pete apartment complex in the retro style of Fontainebleau in Miami. He is currently building luxury “Americanized” homes in Portugal for expatriates.
Knowing his passion, Weisser’s partner chased down this Vette, buying it at a Mecum auction in Kissimmee and surprise-presenting it as they left a restaurant when the valet brought the car up. With a 300hp 327 engine, Weisser’s Vette checks all the boxes: four-speed, side pipes, rally wheels and Redline tires. Definitely a keeper.
