Tampa Brews Up A Top Coffee City Ranking
According to WalletHub, Tampa ranks 6th among the best coffee cities in America. The study evaluated the 100 largest cities in the U.S., considering factors such as the number of coffee shops per capita and the average cost of a pack of coffee. Hurricane Relief Efforts
In the aftermath of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Hillsborough County faces an estimated $1.8 billion in damages. BayCare has donated $300,000 to Feeding Tampa Bay, Metropolitan Ministries and the St. Petersburg Free Clinic and as of October 16, Feeding Tampa Bay has provided 1,362,162 disaster meals across 90 distribution sites in hurricane-affected areas.
Chris Ponte Plans New Waterfront Restaurant
Chris Ponte, known for restaurants Olivia, On Swann and Ponte Modern American, is teaming up once again with Bob Basham, co-founder of Outback Steakhouse, to bring a new culinary concept to Rattlesnake Point. After their successful collaboration on Bare Naked Kitchen, the duo plans to launch an 8,000-square-foot waterfront eatery featuring coastal fare. The yet-to-be-named restaurant is slated to open in fall 2025.
Tampa International Airport Plans Expansion
Tampa International Airport, recently ranked the second-best large airport in the U.S. by JD Power, has approved a $1.5 billion expansion for Airside D — its first new Airside in nearly 20 years. The 16-gate facility, designed to accommodate both international and domestic flights, will span two levels and be located on the northwest side of TPA’s main terminal. It will also feature a central hub offering a variety of shopping and dining options.
Foot Locker Headquarters Moves To St. Petersburg
The iconic brand’s corporate office is moving from New York City to the Sunshine State. Foot Locker’s relocation to St. Petersburg is set for 2025 and it will be the fourth Fortune 500 company to establish headquarters in Pinellas County.
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Unveils Wild Oasis Realm
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has announced plans for a new kid-friendly area set to debut in Spring 2025. The new Wild Oasis realm will replace the long-closed Treetop Trails attraction in the park’s Jungala area, which has been inaccessible to guests for five years. Wild Oasis will feature a drop tower ride, an interactive water play zone, a multi-species animal habitat and a multi-level climbing canopy.
