Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Watt began his medical education at the Medical College of Wisconsin and spent six years perfecting Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in the USF Plastic Surgery Residency program. He fell in love with Tampa, and he is the newest member of the team at Marcadis Watt Plastic Surgery in South Tampa.
How did you know you wanted to become a plastic surgeon?
We had a great family friend growing up who was the plastic surgeon of the state. At a young age, he allowed me to shadow a breast augmentation. Seeing immediate results and the difference it made for the patients had me hooked. During my residency, I had the best attending physicians and learned every specialty within this field. The people in the program and relationships I made will stay with me forever.
You recently joined Dr. Abraham Marcadis to form Marcadis Watt Plastic Surgery. Why was this the right practice for you?
If you have ever had the opportunity to meet Dr. Marcadis, you know he is a genuine man who cares about his patients. He is also an amazing surgeon — the top in TAMPA Magazine four years straight! The entire practice has the same goal: to give patients the best experience possible. I’m honored to be a part of the team.
What should patients be sure to ask their plastic surgeon before committing to a procedure or treatment?
Ask every question you can ahead of time. There is no such thing as too many questions! At our office, we want to make sure patients feel comfortable and secure with their procedures.
What else should patients know about Marcadis Watt Plastic Surgery?
We not only have two surgeons, continuing the legacy of Marcadis Plastic Surgery, but we also have a thriving Med Spa that has been seeing patients for over 20 years. Also, we have an in-office surgical suite, so your procedure will take place in a location you’re already familiar with. The same people who have been there from your initial consultation will be caring for you during surgery and all the way through the healing process. We really put an emphasis on patient comfort.
What are some new services or treatments you’re excited to offer patients?
In addition to our injectors and aestheticians in the Med Spa, we are excited to be adding 3D microblading and eyelash extensions to our services this fall.
Favorite way to spend a weekend?
Anything with my family is a weekend well spent. Our son is 7 and loves taking our dogs on walks down Bayshore. Moving to Tampa has opened up a huge range of fun things to do together, and we are loving every second of it!
Favorite healthy living tip?
Schedule time for yourself! Anything from workouts to facials — make it a priority!
Favorite Tampa meal?
Osteria. Every time we go I tell myself to try something new, and I always end up back at the squid ink garganelli.
