OLIVIA has long been one of my favorite spots. Chef Chris Ponte’s modern Italian gem is a place where every dish feels like a celebration, yet it’s still warm and approachable enough for a casual weeknight meal. The original Tampa location stole my heart, and now the new St. Pete outpost carries on the magic.
I love grabbing a seat at the bar and starting with a dirty martini or a glass of Nebbiolo if I’m leaning toward wine. The peppadews are addictive and the yellowtail crudo is a must.
For pasta, I’m usually a mini rigatoni fan, but there’s one off-menu dish that changed everything: the lasagna. Baked to order and shaped like a cinnamon bun, it’s rich, comforting and big enough to share. Only a few are made each night, so when you see it, don’t hesitate.
