Florida Sunset, 2021
Artist Jason Middlebrook and his team installed this 952-square-foot mosaic mural in November 2021 at Tampa International Airport’s new Blue Express Curbside atrium. Florida Sunset offers viewers an immersive experience that embodies the biodiversity of Florida, with scaled-up native flowers, insects and a snowy egret. The mural took a year to fabricate by hand in Middlebrook’s studio in Hudson, New York. Graphicstudio, the acclaimed print atelier on USF’s Tampa campus, has collaborated with Middlebrook to produce unique wall sculptures and prints in the past. graphicstudio.usf.edu
