Depicting the iconic ‘80s singer and actress Grace Jones, the piece “Amazing Grace” is a spray-painted portrait on canvas with a 3D overlay by the LA-based street artist Grace the Streets, featuring their stylized graffiti signature.
The artwork was showcased at CASS Contemporary in the exhibit “Paint it Forward Vol.02,” providing established artists an opportunity to highlight rising talent. On that night, international artist Tristan Eaton introduced “Grace,” and many, including myself, agreed that his piece stole the show. It was promptly acquired at the collector’s preview by Tampa’s own homegrown talent, Andrew Watson. “It was completely original, from subject matter to style and execution. I had to have it,” he recalls.
