When most people hear the word “art,” their next thought isn’t typically graffiti. Still, street art possesses powers beyond any canvas. Both mediums make statements and tell stories, but murals can unite communities, and this massively detailed masterpiece facing the Epicurean Hotel does all that for Tampa. Commissioned by Bern’s Steak House to commemorate their 60th anniversary and timed to celebrate their annual Winefest that year, “Evangeline’s Feast” instantly established a new level of credibility for Tampa’s art scene. LA artist Tristan Eaton paints murals globally, and this spray-painted depiction of the famed steakhouse’s history set a new standard here.
