Bronze sculpture with gold leaf, 15 feet
Internationally acclaimed realist painter and sculptor Audrey Flack (born in 1931) was commissioned by the Hillsborough County Public Art Program in 2007 to create a sculpture in front of the George E. Edgecomb Courthouse in Downtown Tampa. Flack’s longstanding interest in the great masters, baroque art and Greek and Roman sculpture is brought into the 21st century with her portrayal of a powerful female figure. According to Flack, “Great art is an exquisite balance. It is restorative.” hillsclerk.com
