A fourth-generation Tampanian, Christina Anton Garcia founded her own marital and family law firm after graduating from law school to help people in her community going through one of life’s hardest transitions. “I have always been interested in the law and also finding a way to help people,” she says. “Family law brings the two together in the perfect way.” She has also made giving back a priority, inside and outside the office. Anton Garcia is a Patron and Sustainer-level supporter of the Junior League of Tampa Bay, and she has led a team at the Tampa Bay Heart Walk for the past three years. She’s also working with a group of friends to start their own charity. “It brings me great pleasure to make a small difference,” she says.
What is your current occupation? Tell me a little bit about what you do in your position.
I am the managing partner of Anton Garcia Law, a marital and family law firm, located in South Tampa. I am extremely passionate about helping clients through a difficult time in their life. I work closely with our team to assist clients with litigation, mediation and collaborative divorce and family law matters to ensure our clients the best possible outcome.
How did you choose your profession?
I have always been interested in the law and also finding a way to help people. Family law brings the two together in the perfect way. I have an undergraduate degree in psychology, which I use daily in my family law practice.
What nonprofits/charitable organizations are you involved with?
I am a Patron and Sustainer for the Junior League of Tampa Bay. I also have led a team for the American Heart Association Heart Walk for the last three years, and we have obtained K Club status or greater every year. I am currently on the committee for the Mommy and Me High Tea, which benefits Redefining Refuge. Additionally, I am an active supporter of the Krewe of Sant’ Yago Education Foundation, Quantum Leap Farm, Bay Area Legal Services, A Kid’s Place, Children’s Cancer Center and St. John’s Episcopal School. Lastly, I am in the early stages of founding a charity benefiting cancer and select other causes.
Regarding the last question, why did you choose to become involved with that particular organization, or why did you choose to found your own?
I have always made giving back a priority and seen it as a rewarding and appropriate action in life. It brings me great pleasure to be able to make a small difference.

With my husband and kids traveling or doing something adventurous. We love to explore new places.
Who is your mentor, and why?
Ron Fleisher, who has been an exceptional asset to not only me, but the entire Anton Garcia Law team. He offers objective advice and thought-provoking exercises, fostering an understanding of my mental models to allow me to become an increasingly better version of myself.
Do you have a motto or philosophy you live by?
“If it’s worth doing, do it 100%.”
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received, and from whom did you receive it?
My dad always says, “There’s no substitute for hard work.” It’s so true!
What do you love most about Tampa?
The energy and momentum that’s building with all the new growth! Seeing Tampa and the surrounding Bay area transform while retaining its historic character creates a wonderful place for my family and business to grow.
What is the last book you read or your favorite book?
Anything my kids enjoy me reading to them! For my personal development, Ascend by Dr. William Anton was the last book I read.
Which app on your phone could you not live without, and why?
The camera, because I can’t stop taking pictures of my kids and nature!
What is your dream vacation?
Napa. We go almost every year, and it’s always heavenly! There are always great new restaurants and wineries to explore.
